Mainframe Developer (6-Month Contract) - London (Hybrid)
We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer to join a prestigious financial institution on a 6-month contract. The role will focus on developing and supporting CICS web services, ZOS Connect EE, and DB2 REST interfaces within a dynamic hybrid working environment.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience with CICS web services, SOAP, WSDL, JSON, and RESTful APIs, and be comfortable working in an Agile/DevOps environment using modern toolsets.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain CICS web services and ZOS Connect EE/DB2 REST services.
- Work with Mainframe development tools such as FileAid, Xpediter, IBM Explorer for ZOS, and Visual Studio.
- Develop and maintain APIs using SOAP, WSDL, and JSON, ensuring robust SOA and RESTful service integration.
- Collaborate using code repositories, bug tracking tools, and wikis (GitLab, Endevor, JIRA, Confluence).
- Implement security integration patterns including Basic Authentication, Client Authentication (mTLS), and OAuth (JWT).
What You Will Ideally Bring
- Proven experience with ZOS Connect EE and DB2 REST.
- Extensive knowledge of CICS web services.
- Java development experience, including OOP and functional programming (Java 8+).
- Familiarity with Spring Boot, annotations, and configuration for simplified deployment.
- RESTful API development experience.
- Hands-on experience with DataPower appliances.
- Development experience with XSLT, Gateway Script, and XPath.
Contract Details
- Duration: 6 months (with potential extension)
- Day Rate: Up to £430 per day (Inside IR35)
- Location: London- Hybrid Based
- Start Date: ASAP
