AWS Cloud Architect - £650/day via Umbrella - 3-month Contract - Remote - SCC Flex Contract

We are seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Architect to lead the end-to-end design, governance, and delivery of complex cloud engagements. This role focuses on migrating and optimising client workloads on AWS, producing detailed low-level designs, implementing Infrastructure as Code, and embedding high standards of security, governance, and cost optimisation across cloud environments.

Your responsibilities as the AWS Cloud Architect:

• Design and deliver scalable, secure, and cost-effective AWS architectures, including landing zones, networking, compute, and data platforms
• Define solutions aligned to the AWS Well-Architected Framework and Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF)
• Produce HLDs/LLDs, reference architectures, and operational documentation
• Lead hands-on delivery across IaC, automation, and platform services
• Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, shaping cloud strategy and operating models
• Run design workshops, cost/performance reviews, and Well-Architected assessments
• Establish governance and security using AWS Organizations, Control Tower, IAM, SCPs, Config, and CloudTrail
• Embed security, compliance, and FinOps best practices across environments
• Coach engineers and promote reusable patterns and best practice

As a successful AWS Cloud Architect, you will have:

• Strong hands-on experience across AWS core services (EC2, EKS/ECS, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, VPC, Route 53, CloudFront)
• Proven experience designing multi-account landing zones
• Demonstrable success migrating workloads to AWS, including discovery, wave planning, and cutover
• Strong Infrastructure as Code skills using Terraform and/or CloudFormation (CDK desirable)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, observability, and operational tooling
• Solid understanding of security, governance, and cost optimisation
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• AWS certifications (Solutions Architect - Professional preferred)
• Experience in regulated environments and FinOps practices
