Embedded Software Engineer (DSP)

My Client are looking to recruit 2 Engineers on a long term Freelance basis to join their busy and expanding project. You will contribute to a Digital Broadcast Radio project and in particular to the Physical Layer implementation. You are familiar with OFDM signal processing, and implementation of respective algorithms on Digital Signal Processors.

The work is to be performed onsite (60%) with the remaining 40% remotely (if you wish). The initial contract duration would be for 12mths with further possible extensions planned.

Essential Skills:

  • Master of Electronic Engineering or Computer Science; 5-10 years of experience in Embedded software development
  • Profound experience in DSP programming in C/C++ and assembly
  • Familiar with OFDM signal processing
  • Experience with Embedded development toolchains, debugging tools and version control systems
  • Experience with Embedded software debugging tools (like debugger, logical analyser and oscilloscope)

Preferred Skills:

  • Prototype new features and algorithms on MATLAB or equivalent and demonstrate using Simulation
  • RF Domain experience, knowledge of one PHY layer standard based on OFDM
  • Experience in working in an agile software development environment
  • Experience with Atlassian tools and configuration (ie JIRA and Bitbucket)
  • Aware of quality processes like CMMI, IATF 16949
