Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Platform Engineer to join a large-scale delivery programme within the financial services sector. You will be part of a high-performing delivery unit supporting the design, build, and deployment of cloud-based application platforms that integrate both cloud and non-cloud infrastructure.

This is a hands-on engineering role with strong ownership, requiring technical leadership, architectural input, and close collaboration across multiple teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and deploy cloud application solutions across complex hybrid environments

• Deploy and manage cloud infrastructure and platform environments

• Create proof-of-architecture solutions to validate security, performance, and scalability

• Act as a subject matter expert, contributing to technical and delivery decisions across teams

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless cloud service integration

• Identify and implement improvements to cloud architecture and operational efficiency

• Mentor and support junior engineers, promoting best practices and continuous learning

• Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and industry trends

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong experience as a Cloud Platform/Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

• Advanced Python development skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes

• Proven experience with AWS, particularly Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS)

• Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure, security, and performance considerations

• Experience working in complex, enterprise-scale environments

• Ability to operate as a technical lead and influence decisions across multiple teams
