What you'll be working towards

We are currently looking to engage with an experienced AWS Architect for an immediate start with a large UK government body. This is a large scale critical infrastructure project, starting with an initial 6 month contract.

About You

• Proven experience designing solutions on AWS in UK-hosted, multi-account environments using Landing Zone/Control Tower principles.
• Strong Infrastructure as Code capability using CloudFormation and/or Terraform.
• Experience designing API-led and event-driven architectures on AWS.
• Hands-on knowledge of API Gateway and Application Load Balancers for secure service exposure.
• Practical experience with AWS messaging/event services: SNS, SQS, EventBridge.
• Strong understanding of data platforms and migration: RDS/Aurora, DynamoDB, plus AWS DMS and migration patterns.
• Ability to design for data integrity, reconciliation and auditability in regulated environments.
• Security-by-design expertise: IAM, KMS encryption, TLS, and logging/monitoring via CloudTrail/CloudWatch.
• Proven delivery of architecture outputs: solution/component designs, diagrams, documentation, and contribution to Design Authority/governance.
• Effective collaborator and communicator: supports Dev/DevOps teams, raises risks/dependencies early, and balances ideal architecture with delivery constraints.
