Senior Platform Engineer - AWS - Kubernetes - FinTech

Excellent opportunity opens for an experienced Senior Platform Engineer with extensive Kubernetes & AWS knowledge to join a rapidly growing FinTech in a crucial role. Responsibilities and Duties

Core Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain our AWS-based Kubernetes platform running on EKS, ensuring high availability and security appropriate for financial infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code using Terraform across multiple environments.
• Build and improve our GitOps-based deployment pipelines using ArgoCD and Argo Workflows.
• Implement and maintain observability solutions (metrics, logging, tracing) to ensure platform reliability.
• Collaborate with the wider engineering team to ensure our services are deployed securely and efficiently.
• Contribute to platform security practices, including secrets management, network policies, and access controls.
• Build, maintain and improve developer tooling.
• Participate in our on-call rotation and incident response for platform-level issues.

Day-to-Day:

• Reviewing and merging infrastructure PRs, collaborating with the wider engineering team
• Troubleshooting Kubernetes workloads, service mesh routing, and cloud networking issues
• Building and improving automation to reduce toil and improve developer experience
• Participating in architecture discussions for new services and platform capabilities
• Monitoring platform health, responding to alerts, and conducting post-incident reviews
• Writing documentation and runbooks for operational procedures

How this Role Fits into the Bigger Picture:

This role reports to the Head of Platform Engineering and works closely with our Back End engineering team. As a Senior Platform Engineer, you'll be a key contributor to the reliability, scalability and security of infrastructure that underpins critical financial market operations. Your work directly impacts our ability to deliver on the trust our clients place in us as a clearing house.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience in platform engineering, SRE, or infrastructure roles
• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes (ideally EKS), Terraform, and AWS
• Experience with service mesh technologies (Istio preferred) and GitOps workflows (ArgoCD preferred)
• Proficiency in at least one programming language for tooling and automation (Go preferred)
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and a systematic approach to incident response
• Strong communicator who can work effectively with all parts of the business and explain technical decisions clearly
