Our client which is a leading Insurance company is looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join their Predictive Analytics team and get hands on with their data and provide innovative solutions to the business. You would add value by driving data solutions and making recommendations across data pipelines and predictive analytics with Business Stakeholders.
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Drive the development and maintenance of robust and scalable data pipelines within our Spark-based data platform to enhance the capabilities of the Pricing function
- Design and implement data solutions using internal and external data
- Collaborate with Actuary's and Predictive Modellers to deliver innovative data solutions
- Develop an expert knowledge of the company's IT landscape, data and data systems
- Drive the Data Engineering teams' technical strategy for continuous improvement, by collaboratively setting best practices and participating in code reviews
- Contribute to a culture of results-driven collaboration, support and respect, and mentoring junior team members to develop and grow their skills
The ideal candidate for this opportunity would need:
- 7 years' experience in Data using Python, SQL or PySpark to provide data driven solutions
- Proven experience implementing data warehouse solutions and methodologies
- Knowledge of RDBMS tools (eg SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle)
- Experience with data visualisation and ability to interpret and suggest solutions and process reviews for Business and Technical Stakeholders
- Business mindset and ability to add value to the business through technology
- Relishes problem solving, analysis and getting hands on digging into data issues
- Independent and self-driven individual that thrives when faced with challenge
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with technical and non-technical team members
- Desire and ability to learn the business and become an expert in the industry
