Contract Delivery Lead - Data, AI & Automation

UK-based | Contract | Hybrid | £400 per day outside IR35

We're supporting a UK consultancy delivering complex data- and AI-driven programmes for enterprise clients. The work sits at the intersection of delivery leadership, technical understanding, and client engagement.

This is a senior contractor role for someone who is comfortable shaping work early, then owning delivery once outcomes are agreed.

What the role looks like

Leading early conversations to understand business problems and technical constraints

Converting loosely defined ideas into structured delivery plans and milestones

Owning delivery end to end, coordinating engineers and specialists

Acting as the main point of contact for senior client stakeholders

Feeding delivery insight back into future work and solution design

Technical environment you'll be comfortable with

(Not hands-on coding day to day, but credible in conversation and decision-making)

AI/data platforms: Python-based systems, ML workflows, data pipelines

Cloud: AWS, Azure or GCP environments

Architecture: APIs, microservices, event-driven systems

ML delivery concepts: model deployment, MLOps, monitoring, iteration

Tooling: Git, CI/CD, modern delivery and collaboration tools

What matters most

Proven experience leading technical or data-heavy programmes

Able to work confidently with engineers and non-technical stakeholders

Comfortable operating on project- and milestone-based contracts

Calm, credible presence in client environments

UK-based with flexibility to travel when required

Best suited for

Senior contractors or consultants who enjoy ownership, ambiguity, and shaping work rather than stepping into fully defined delivery roles.
