Location: Remote - UK or EU (Right to Work required)
Day Rate: £400-£450 (Outside IR35)
Length: 6 months
Start Date: February/March
We are seeking an experienced HR TechOps Project Manager to support the delivery of multiple mid-sized HR technology projects within a broader HR TechOps programme. The role focuses on deploying changes across cloud-based, integrated HR systems, with a strong emphasis on Workday and associated HRIS platforms.
You will manage projects end-to-end, from Project Charter and Business Requirements through to deployment, hypercare, and closure, working closely with HR Technology, business stakeholders, and global teams across EMEA and the US.
Key Responsibilities:Project Delivery
Own and manage multiple mid-sized projects across several workstreams
Ensure delivery on time, within scope, and within budget
Support the full project life cycle including planning, execution, testing, cutover, and hypercare
Project Planning & Governance
Develop and manage detailed project plans in Smartsheet
Ensure plans include testing, cutover, and deployment activities
Establish and maintain project governance in line with PMO standards
Track, report, and communicate progress against milestones
Milestones & Dependencies
Define and manage critical project milestones
Identify and manage interdependencies across teams and workstreams
Stakeholder Management
Engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
Drive accountability for stakeholder deliverables
Facilitate clear, consistent communication and status reporting using standard tools and collaterals
Risk & Issue Management
Own and maintain RAID and Action Logs in Smartsheet
Proactively identify risks, escalate where required, and drive resolution
Testing & Deployment
Accountable for successful delivery of testing phases aligned to the Test Strategy
Oversee cutover activities and post-deployment hypercare
Manage escalation and resolution of production issues during hypercare
Ways of Working

Work independently while adhering to PMO and delivery standards
Must-Have Skills & Experience:
Proven experience delivering HR software/HRIS projects
Strong hands-on experience using Smartsheet for project delivery
Experience managing multiple concurrent projects
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to work independently, proactively, and with minimal supervision
Comfortable managing ambiguity and change
Experience working within global, matrixed organisations
Knowledge of HRIS systems and integrated HR landscapes
Preferred/Desirable Experience:
Workday technical or functional experience
Knowledge of Workday and HRIS integrations
Experience delivering post-HRIS implementation change initiatives
Strong understanding of the employee life cycle
PMP certification or equivalent practical experience
