Job Title: Lead Java Developer
Rate: £572 (Inside IR35)
Duration: 6 months
Location: Remote - One Day Onsite in Manchester per week
Clearance: BPSS
Stages: 1 Stage

Must have hands-on experience with Azure, Java, API & system integrations, Back End development, and microservices architecture.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of scalable Java-based Back End services

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams

• Design, build, and maintain microservices architectures on Microsoft Azure

• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and support complex system integrations

• Ensure solutions meet DWP standards for security, performance, and reliability

• Collaborate with architects, product owners, and delivery teams in an Agile environment

• Conduct code reviews and promote best practices in software engineering

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Lead Java Developer or Senior Java Developer in large-scale environments

• Hands-on experience with Java (Spring/Spring Boot preferred)

• Strong experience working with Microsoft Azure

• Solid background in Back End development

• Experience designing and implementing API & system integrations

• Strong understanding of microservices architecture

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams
