Job Title: Performance Analyst - Information Management
Contract: until 31st December 2026
Rate: £300-£377/day (Inside IR35)
Location: Hybrid - Somerset-based
Reporting To: Information Management Pod Lead/Data Architect
The Performance Analyst is a critical role within the Information Management Pod, acting as the key liaison between business stakeholders, data architects, and technical delivery teams. This role ensures that business requirements are effectively translated into actionable data products and insights, supporting decision-making and guiding future solutions.
The successful candidate will combine a personable and engaging approach with rigorous research and analytical skills. They will leverage programming capabilities to independently develop analytical outputs, supporting the definition of business requirements and enabling the creation of enduring, scalable data solutions.
Key responsibilities include performing short-term analytical tasks, producing investment cases for data products, and ensuring all work aligns with the organisation's Information Design Authority (IDA) governance framework.
Principal Accountabilities-
Engage business stakeholders to understand and capture requirements.

Analyse business data, processes, people, and systems to identify gaps and opportunities.

Produce data-driven insights and visualisations to guide decision-making.

Scope and produce Investment Cases for Data Products to meet stakeholder needs.

Support architecture and technical delivery teams in developing data products aligned with business objectives.

Communicate analysis results effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Ensure all activities adhere to IDA processes, raising any open issues for review and resolution.

Apply agile delivery methodologies using Azure DevOps to manage user stories, tasks, dependencies, and issues.
Knowledge & Skills:

Strong stakeholder relationship management skills: building trust, managing expectations, and focusing on user needs.

Familiarity with agile delivery methodologies and the ability to adapt approaches to team practices.

Ability to capture and validate stakeholder requirements against available or potential data products.

Competent in applying statistical and analytical techniques to answer research questions and support recommendations.

Skilled in developing code for ad hoc analysis (Excel, Databricks, SQL, Python).

Ability to translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Knowledge of testing techniques to ensure requirements are fully met.

Understanding of data ethics, legal, security, and privacy obligations (eg, GDPR, Export Controls, IP).
Qualifications & Experience:
Essential:
-
Degree or equivalent experience in Business, Data/Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, or related discipline.

Experience in business analysis, including leading requirements definition, process mapping, and problem-framing.

Experience working with multidisciplinary teams to translate business needs into testable requirements for data products.

Strong analytical experience: data discovery, profiling, transformation, analysis, and interpretation.

Working knowledge of SQL and the ability to read and modify Python scripts.

Experience in structured project/programme delivery environments, including regulated/audited settings.
Desirable:

Professional qualification in Business Analysis (eg, BCS BA, IIBA ECBA/CCBA/CBAP).

Professional qualification in Data/Analytics (eg, Google Data Analytics, Microsoft DP-900/PL-300, BCS Data Analysis).

Over 5 years' experience in Nuclear, Asset-Intensive, or Safety-Critical industries.
