Rate: £650 (Outside IR35)

Contract Length: Initial 3-6 month contract (with strong extension potential)

We are seeking a Senior Security Consultant - Network Control to support the delivery of critical services within a highly regulated environment. This role focuses on embedding security into project delivery, ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting security testing, and enabling the smooth transition of services into Business as Usual (BAU) operations. You will act as a security authority within the delivery team, influencing design decisions and managing security risk across the life cycle.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience working in a senior cyber security or security consulting role
  • Strong knowledge of security policies, controls and regulatory frameworks
  • Experience embedding security requirements into complex delivery programmes
  • Hands-on experience supporting security testing, including NFRs and penetration testing
  • Experience identifying, managing and remediating security non-compliances
  • Strong understanding of regulated environments and assurance-driven delivery
  • Excellent communication skills, able to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and priorities simultaneously
  • Must be SC Eligible

Desirable Skills & Knowledge

  • Experience within the UK energy sector or other critical national infrastructure
  • Familiarity with ISA/IEC 62443 standards
  • Understanding of the NCSC Cyber Assessment Framework (CAF) and guidance
  • Experience working within agile delivery environments
  • Knowledge of securing containerised services and modern platforms

Key Responsibilities

  • Embed defined security requirements into projects, acting as an integral part of the delivery team
  • Lead on all security and regulatory commitments across the service
  • Identify security non-compliances and manage remediation through to closure
  • Support and coordinate security testing activities, including NFRs and penetration testing
  • Provide security assurance and guidance to project and operational teams
  • Support the transition of security services into BAU operations
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with internal security policies and external regulatory standards
  • Collaborate closely with vendors, delivery teams and stakeholders to promote security best practice
