Data Science Practitioner - AI & Data

Overview

We are seeking a Data Science Practitioner to join an established AI & Data team, working on a large-scale delivery unit programme. The role offers the opportunity to design, build and deliver AI/ML-driven decision-making solutions that directly support business outcomes.

You will act as a subject matter expert, contributing to technical strategy, leading delivery decisions, and collaborating closely with multiple teams across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and deliver AI/ML-based decision-making frameworks and models aligned to business objectives
  • Measure, validate and articulate the value and impact of AI/ML solutions
  • Lead and contribute to technical and delivery decisions within your team and across multiple teams
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI/ML solutions into existing platforms, systems and workflows
  • Evaluate AI/ML frameworks and models to ensure performance, scalability and alignment with business requirements
  • Stay up to date with emerging AI/ML technologies and best practices and apply innovations where appropriate
  • Mentor and guide team members on AI/ML implementation, data science best practices and delivery standards

Required Skills & Experience

  • Advanced proficiency in Machine Learning
  • Advanced Data Science experience, including model design, evaluation and deployment
  • Strong understanding of AI/ML solution delivery within enterprise environments
  • Experience working collaboratively across multiple teams and stakeholders
  • Ability to take ownership of technical direction and team-level decisions

Desirable/Recommended Skills

  • Intermediate experience with Amazon SageMaker
  • Exposure to Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
  • Understanding of Model Context Protocol
  • Experience working within a structured Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

  • Terraform
  • Oracle Database

  • Basic AI concepts
  • Data Lake technologies
