Active Directory Engineer - Contract (SC Cleared)

Start: ASAP
Contract Length: Initially 2-3 months, with potential extension in the new financial year
Rate: £500-£700 per day (Inside IR35)
Clearance: Active SC Clearance required
Location: Mostly remote, with occasional travel to Farnborough (expenses reimbursed)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Active Directory Engineer to support a critical project requiring strong expertise in Active Directory design, security, and domain services. This is a hands-on contract role focused on delivering secure, resilient AD solutions in a regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement Active Directory solutions, including Domain Services and Certificate Services

  • Support deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting of AD environments

  • Ensure security compliance and operational stability across directory services

  • Collaborate with security and infrastructure teams to align AD architecture

  • Produce clear technical documentation and design artefacts

  • Provide technical input across project delivery phases


Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience designing and implementing complex Active Directory environments

  • Strong knowledge of AD Domain Services and Certificate Services

  • Active SC Clearance

  • Ability to work independently in a delivery-focused environment

  • Available within 2 weeks

Desirable

  • Experience in defence, government, or other regulated sectors

  • Knowledge of wider security infrastructure and authentication technologies

  • Relevant security or Microsoft certifications
