Project Manager Contract - Paying up to £550 Per Day, Inside IR35, 6 month Contract, Based in Oxford (Hybrid - minimum 3 days per week on site), To Start ASAP

Your new company

You will be joining a major public sector organisation in the Oxfordshire region that is delivering a large, multi-year organisational change programme. This work spans multiple directorates and involves significant structural, operational and service-level transformation. To ensure the programme is delivered with discipline, clarity and strong governance, the organisation is seeking an experienced Project Manager who is energised by complexity, motivated by purpose and ready to play a central role in a pivotal period of organisational change.

Your new role

As Project Manager, you will lead delivery of key programme workstreams, bringing structure and momentum to a fast-paced environment. You will take ownership of planning, coordination and day-to-day delivery, ensuring milestones are met and risks, issues and dependencies are managed proactively. Acting as a trusted partner to stakeholders, you will provide insight and challenge while keeping the programme aligned to its strategic goals. You will support governance, maintain clear documentation and enable timely, informed decision-making. This role requires confidence, autonomy and a strong commitment to delivering meaningful outcomes within complex public-sector settings.

What you'll need to succeed

• Substantial experience leading transformation programmes within the public sector
• Strong capability to navigate complex political environments, demonstrating sound judgement and an understanding of public-sector sensitivities
• Demonstrated success in steering large, multi-layered change initiatives, with the ability to bring structure, clarity, and organisation to ambiguous situations
• Advanced planning and governance skills, with the confidence to establish effective delivery frameworks and keep them on track
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities
• Calm, focused approach under pressure, ensuring momentum is sustained even in challenging circumstances
• High levels of resilience, discipline, and commitment to guide complex transformation programmes from inception through to successful delivery
