Cloud DevOps Engineer - Dublin
Gibbs Hybrid is looking for an accomplished Cloud DevOps Engineer to support a Dublin based client, across their cloud environment. The Cloud Engineer will understand the interactions between systems, the applications and services hosted and evaluate the impact of changes and additions, specifically within a Cloud environment. This is a contract to permanent opportunity. 2/3 days a week onsite in Dublin office.
Perform all phases of software engineering including requirements analysis, application design code development and testing
Partner with engineering/product management groups and represent operations, influence capability prioritization process with reliability challenges and operational investments
Ability to work in a DevOps frame of work and responsibilities
Participate in an Agile/Scrum methodology to deliver high-quality software releases every Sprint
Collaborate with System Analysts and Product Owners to align business requirements to the functionality of the application
Troubleshoot production support issues post-deployment and come up with solutions as required
Monitor and assess end to end performance on services by understanding all infrastructure components within the service chain
Essential:
Experience in 24x7 Production Support and ITSM Practices
Hands on distributed server operations (build, break/fix, manage, patching, prod support)
3+ years of application development experience
Knowledge of monitoring tools, automation scripts, and overall automation to reduce manual efforts
Experience working with Open Source technology such as Git/GitHub, OpenShift, Apache JMeter, or Python
Experience working in an Agile CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery) development environment
Experience with writing batch files, PowerShell scripts or UNIX Shell Scripts
Excellent written communication skills and ability to document technical content
4 year degree in computer science or equivalent experience
