Leads and directs the work activities and has full management responsibility for the performance and development of subordinate staff in accordance with corporate strategic directions. Expert in insurance data management associated with financial, actuarial, or corporate processing and reporting applications. Promotes P&C data standards, and corporate coding structures through deep knowledge of CNA's products and services, external statutory, regulatory and financial (GAAP) and internal management information reporting requirements through leadership of others.

Provides data-related technical guidance to direct reports and leads project teams with cross-functional representation. Influence and/or drives data policy development. Ensures timely and accurate development/design of integrated data solutions to complex business problems.

JOB DESCRIPTION:Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesAct as liaison among management, technical staff and subject matter advisors to understand business issues, troubleshoot problems, direct root cause analysis and drive development of cost effective resolutions for data anomalies.Design and develop highly complex data solutions for the business dashboards on Cloud platform using complex transformation rules, Information Intelligent Cloud Services, Python scripting, Apache Airflow and Lucidchart. Design, develop and maintain complex business applications within insurance domain using Java, Visual Basic, PeopleCode, Structured Query Language (SQL) Github and Jira.

Design and develop system integrations for legacy systems, enterprise applications, third party systems, and business-to-business using APIs, Application Messaging, Integration Broker, webhooks and electronic data interchange (EDI).Participate in integrated data architecture discussions and recommend use of existing or new data structures which will enhance current systems and support overall corporate and business goals.Provide technical consultation to business and technical clients.

Ensure development of efficient application systems that comply with architecture standards and corporate data policy.Provide direction to team members who evaluate and implement requests and requirements for application and value changes associated with complex data structures.Approve requests following review of supporting documentation and data analysis, ensuring that changes comply with corporate data policy and reporting needs.

Review high-level and detailed designs of end-to-end data solutions, ensuring the inclusion of risk mitigation strategies.Coach team members as they develop data transformation specifications and processes to ensure that data is of its highest quality at all points in the end-to-end process for appropriate financial, operational and analytical purposes. Ensure timely completion of team deliverables.

Reporting RelationshipTypically Director or aboveEducation & ExperienceBachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, business administration or related7 (seven) years of experience as an IT manager, program manager, senior manager, associate manager or related.
