DVM DATA ANALYST Location: Palo Alto, CA6 monthsJOB DESCRIPTION Our client is leading a cross-functional effort to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their pricing and discounting activities on a global basis. A Discounting and Value Management initiative, set up to drive these efforts, requires a Data Analyst to support team members, focusing on gathering, transformation, analysis, and visualization of financial and operational data for executive and field decision making.

Link data sources, interpret and manipulate data, analyze results, and provide ongoing reports.Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics, and other strategies that optimize analytical efficiency and quality.Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.

Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.Filter and "clean data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct data quality and computation problems.Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.

Document requirements (data, process flows, algorithms) into Business Requirements Documents (BRD).Work with management to prioritize business and information needs.Support project management, business intelligence, and analytics activities and systems.

QUALIFICATIONSBS in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics from an accredited institution (must).Seven (7) years of work experience since graduation in high technology companies, especially in go-to-market areas (must).Prior hands-on Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst or Business Systems Analyst experience, including actual assignments understanding process, data, and business system conditions for quote-to-cash (must).

Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining, and segmentation techniques (must).Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects or Oracle BIEE), databases (SQL, etc.), and visualization (Tableau) (must).

ETL programming (Java, JavaScript, or ETL frameworks) (nice to have).Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.Adept at collaborating with other individuals and teams, report writing, and presenting findings.
