Together, with Dr.

Chang, the candidate will be the primary engineer for managing pipelines to extract, deidentify and process high-dimensional medical data, primarily focused on radiologic imaging, for use in big data analysis. A deep understanding and experience with enterprise radiology information technology (IT) infrastructure is critical, including familiarity with PACS networking and DICOM standards. Key responsibilities include: designing, building and testing automated for software data pipelines; implementing and improving solutions for data extraction, anonymization and image processing; designing methods for access logging, authentication and authorization; identifying ways to improve data reliability, efficiency and quality; managing flow of data throughout research lifecycle; identifying latent patterns in large datasets.

The single most important requisite for this position is a high capacity for critical thinking and independent analysis, especially in the context of new problems. Data science in healthcare is a rapidly evolving field; no two tasks or challenges are the same. The ability to critically evaluate a new problem and derive solutions with a high a degree of autonomy is paramount to success.

Advanced experience working in a complex computing/data/CI environment encompassing all or some of the following: HPC, data science infrastructure and tools/software, and diverse domain science application base.

In depth ability to successfully work and/or lead multiple concurrent projects. Demonstrated research and technology project leadership and management skills. In depth experience assessing a broad spectrum of technical and research needs and demands and establish priorities, delegate and/or lead development of solutions to meet such needs.
