With technical and leadership expertise, you manage engineers across multiple teams and locations, a large product budget and oversee the deployment of large-scale projects across multiple sites internationally.The Quantum Computing Software team supports the mission of Google's Quantum AI by using software engineering to improve features, performance, and usability for Google's Quantum processors. Quantum computers require performant control electronics and classical computers to drive their quantum computations.

In this role, you will manage the team that is responsible for the software that drives the control electronics (ie, Quantum Operating System). You will work with the Quantum OS team on analyzing and improving overall performance, designing and architecting performant distributed and parallel systems, develop new kernel features and architectures for the Quantum Operating System. Google Research is building the next generation of intelligent systems for all Google products.

To achieve this, we're working on projects that utilize the latest computer science techniques developed by skilled software developers and research scientists. Google Research teams collaborate closely with other teams across Google, maintaining the flexibility and versatility required to adapt new projects and foci that meet the demands of the world's fast-paced business needs.The US base salary range for this full-time position is $189,000-$284,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.

Responsibilities Set and communicate team priorities that support the broader organization's goals. Align strategy, processes, and decision-making across teams.Set clear expectations with individuals based on their level and role and aligned to the broader organization's goals.

Meet regularly with individuals to discuss performance and development and provide feedback and coaching.Develop the mid-term technical goal and roadmap within the scope of the team. Evolve the roadmap to meet anticipated future requirements and infrastructure needs.

Design, guide and vet systems designs within the scope of the broader area, and write product or system development code to solve ambiguous problems.Review code developed by other engineers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (eg, style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency)
