POSITION SUMMARY

This position is a key individual contributor with expertise in selected business or healthcare processes and participates in formulating scope and requirements relative to the objectives of the Innovation Center of Excellence (ICOE). Acts independently to provide knowledge, guidance, research, and fact-finding expertise to define, design and modify specifications and processes of complex Innovation initiatives. The incumbent participates in meetings, presentations, visioning sessions, planning sessions, and implementation activities with cross-functional teams as needed. Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards.

CORE FUNCTIONS

1. Uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business challenges to support development of new solutions or improvements to existing services, processes or products defined through ICOE. Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems, apply new perspectives, and financial projections to prototype solutions, and imagine new functionality using existing solutions.

2. Interprets customer needs, assesses requirements, and identifies solutions to non-standard requests. Builds and supports effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Works with team to develop Pro Forma and P&L tracking as directed. Works directly with Finance to maintain P&L and provide updates and recommendations to team regarding performance and ROI for approved projects.

3. Advises on usage of infrastructure (eg, website, interfaces, ServiceNow, Azure Cloud, etc.) to effectively identify optimal solutions for ICOE opportunities, independently or with Innovation team and/or Subject Matter Experts. Supports the appropriate PMO team with design of processes, serving as a voice of the customer and on behalf of ICOE to ensure alignment with Innovation best practices and organizational goals.

4. Works independently, with Innovation team and/or Subject Matter Experts to analyze opportunities presented to ICOE for alignment with strategic goals and long-term benefit to the organization. Requires critical thinking skills and maintains effective communication regarding status updates with various stakeholders ensuring timely, accurate and efficient reporting utilizing established processes and methods.

5. Successfully communicates conceptual ideas, design, and business rationale. Collaborates with Department management and leads the analysis and evaluation of operational performance, and business planning related to specific ICOE initiatives. Creates presentations, reports, and analysis for management regarding roadmap, KPI's, and ICOE goals and objectives.

SCOPE AND COMPLEXITY
Requires the ability to work with a variety of personnel including Executives, Managers, Staff, and a variety of internal and external individuals.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENT FACTORS

Requires extensive sitting with periodic standing and walking. May be required to lift up to 20 pounds. Requires significant use of personal computer, phone and general office equipment. Needs adequate visual acuity, ability to grasp and handle objects. Needs ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on telephone. May require periodic off-site travel.

  • Excellent human relations skills and the ability to effectively interact and communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels staff and outside professionals.
  • Strong abilities in financial analysis, data interpretation, computer software applications, Visio, MS Office suite and spreadsheet programs.
  • Ability to think strategically; and ability to collaborate within a cross functional environment.
  • Must have a proven track record of successfully leading change with positive outcomes. Must have proven experience delivering operational, technical, and business solutions and experience with process improvement and managing the organizational impact. Must also possess strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills, as well as the ability to negotiate and maintain relationships with diverse internal and external contacts and stakeholders.
  • Adaptability and flexibility are critical success factors as the market and business strategy changes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in business or healthcare-related discipline.
  • Six (6) years' experience in the clinical laboratory or healthcare-related field.
  • Communication and presentation skills to engage technical and non-technical audiences. Ability to communicate and interact across facilities and at various levels.
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment managing large scope projects while navigating ambiguity to create clarity among business partners.
  • Experience in supporting assessments, designing, and implementing innovative strategies.
  • Demonstrated general knowledge of information technology and healthcare.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and facilitate interdisciplinary teams.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 Suite.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's Degree in business or healthcare-related discipline.
  • Background in healthcare services, especially delivery solutions in complex delivery environments, is advantageous but not required.
  • Additional related education and/or experience.
