Position OverviewThe Boeing Company is looking for a Command & Control Software Architect to join the Ground Software Engineering team located in El Segundo, California. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Satellite Systems Software Engineering organization.
Our team creates the software tools and services for the world's highest performing satellite/ground systems for USG and Commercial customers. We work with space customers in the development of the next generation ground systems.
Responsibilities- Architect, design, and develop high-performance Command and Control (C2) software solutions for complex, real-time, mission-critical systems.
- Lead the software development process from architecture and design through to implementation and deployment, leveraging GitLab for version control, issue tracking, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).
- Oversee the design, development, analyses, and maintenance of software systems that meet design practices, customer and internal quality, safety, and security standards.
- Partner with appropriate stakeholders to inform system definition and oversee translation of system-level requirements into software requirements and models that meet customer, operational and performance requirements and have clear traceability to design, code and test artifacts.
- Oversee completion of software system-level analyses to identify risk, issues and opportunities; oversee integration and deployment of mitigation actions throughout the software lifecycle.
- Oversee monitoring and reviewing test completion, verification processes and issue resolution for software systems.
- Oversee review of product and process for alignment with project plans and industry standards by performing design reviews.
- Oversee code reviews to ensure alignment to requirements and standards.
- 10+ years' experience in foundational Computer Science knowledge and object-oriented design and software patterns
- 5+ years' experience leading projects and/or individuals through the software development lifecycles
- Experience with architectural reviews and ensuring adherence to best practices and standards (eg scalability, security, maintainability)
- Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance (interim prestart, final post start)
- Experience implementing software architecture patterns (eg, microservices, monolithic, domain-driven)
- Experience with implementation, validation, and verification processes, practices, and guidelines to ensure software development quality, performance, and safety.
- Experience in Command and Control (C2) systems, Real Time applications, and their specific requirements (eg, high availability, low-latency processing, fault tolerance).
- Familiarity with containerization tools (eg, Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration platforms.
- Experience with version control systems (eg, Gitlab, bitbucket, etc.) and automation services (eg, Jenkins, Gitlab CI/CD, etc.).
- Experience with database technologies (SQL/NoSQL), messaging systems (eg, Kafka, ActiveMQ), and/or data streaming technologies (eg, CCSDS).
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

Pay RangeSummary Pay Range: Lead/$167,450 - $226,550
Principal/$193,800 - $262,200
