Technical Leader - Mechanical Power Cycle Systems (Remote Eligible, U.S.)
Job Description Summary
The Technical Leader - Mechanical Power Cycle Systems contributes to the team responsible for the execution of mechanical and system engineering activities in support of the BWRX-300 project related to the steam and feedwater systems in the balance of plant. The Mechanical Power Cycle Systems Technical Leader impacts departmental operations and is responsible for planning/execution. The role has a significant amount of autonomy but is focused on consistent execution of activities by the team across multiple projects in accordance with standard functional practices and procedures.
ResponsibilitiesProvide technical leadership to a group of engineers and contractors in activities related to analyses, calculations and technical evaluations required for timely resolution of design and implementation issues.
Develop project work schedules and provide input to team priorities.
Mentor and provide technical leadership for mechanical systems on the BWRX-300 including the steam turbine, turbine auxiliaries, main condenser, condensate, and feedwater systems.
Work within a team environment to execute work plans within budget and schedule.
Support the BWRX-300 certification processes for GE Products to address all US NRC (or other nuclear regulator) design certification requirements.
Establish and maintain technical oversight of applicable regulations (eg, US, other national, or global regions).
Interface with internal and external customers, other engineering teams, suppliers, partners, licensing, the NRC and international regulatory authorities on technical issues.
Manage the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned systems using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements.
Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments to team, engineering, and project management.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or other engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.
Minimum 8 years of experience in an engineering role, with work in mechanical or process system design.
For US, this role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.

This position will report onsite to the Markham office 2 days a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays).
Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
Nuclear industry knowledge/experience
Master's degree in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering
Familiarity with multiple phases of the EPC project lifecycle
Ability to effectively function in a dynamic design environment and manage the demands of multiple tasks and projects, with commitment to personal and nuclear safety principles
Strong knowledge of fundamental engineering principles and mechanical design fundamentals
Strong communication and writing skills and ability to articulate technical topics across a variety of subjects
Strong facilitation, team building, communication and interpersonal skills; knowledge of project management
Strong analytical capabilities, problem solving and process skills
High integrity and accountability
Detail-oriented and accountable for results
Ability to work effectively within a highly collaborative environment
A self-starter willing to take initiative
Licensed Professional Engineer in the United States or Canada
