Job Title: Security Systems Project Engineer/Project Manager

Salary Range: $115k - $140k

Tiello has partnered with a highly reputable, Electrical Contractor in the Greater Boston area. This is a hybrid senior-level role for a technically strong security professional who can both own system-level programming and commissioning and run projects from kickoff through closeout.

The Senior Security Systems Project Engineer/Project Manager will serve as the technical and operational lead on integrated security projects. This role combines hands-on system programming and commissioning with project management responsibility, including team coordination, client interaction, and delivery accountability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the full project lifecycle for low-voltage and integrated security projects, from pre-construction through commissioning and client handoff
  • Own project scope, budget, schedule, and execution, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within financial targets
  • Lead and coordinate field technicians, programmers, and subcontractors, aligning resources with project requirements
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, resource plans, and material forecasts
  • Perform financial tracking, cost analysis, change order management, and project billing support
  • Handle project administration including RFIs, submittals, transmittals, construction schedules, and punch lists
  • Attend customer meetings and conduct jobsite visits to ensure quality, progress, and client satisfaction
  • Support service teams post-deployment as needed for escalations or system optimization
  • Serve as the technical authority and liaison between project management, engineering, and field teams
  • Program, configure, and commission access control, VMS, and intrusion systems
  • Perform system-level setup including controller programming, access levels, door configurations, and integrations
  • Design and engineer integrated security solutions, including equipment layouts and pre-wire planning
  • Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning to ensure optimal performance
  • Create and maintain documentation, including schematics, riser diagrams, and as-built drawings
  • Provide technical guidance and training to technicians and end users
  • Coordinate with manufacturers, vendors, and clients to meet system and project requirements
Skills & Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in low-voltage security integration, with a mix of technical execution and project leadership
  • Strong hands-on experience with system programming and commissioning
  • Demonstrated ability to run projects, lead teams, and manage client-facing responsibilities
  • Platform experience with systems such as AMAG, Milestone, LenelS2, Genetec, Avigilon, Brivo, Axis, DMP, or similar
  • Solid understanding of IP networking, including addressing, switches, and system connectivity
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, scheduling tools, and project documentation systems
  • Industry certifications (PMI, AMAG, Milestone, Axis, Avigilon, CTS, etc.) are a plus but not required
  • Valid driver's license
