Senior Software Engineer

Hybrid | Full-time

I'm assisting my client in appointing an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join a growing technology team operating within a regulated environment.

This role suits someone who enjoys hands-on engineering, takes ownership of what they build, and is comfortable working across both traditional code and configurable/low-code tooling to deliver practical, scalable solutions.

You'll work on building and evolving internal platforms that support risk, compliance, and operational workflows. The focus is on creating secure, reliable systems while balancing speed of delivery with long-term maintainability.

• Building and improving Back End and Front End functionality
• Developing and integrating services via APIs
• Working with data-driven systems that require a strong focus on security and privacy
• Prototyping and refining workflows and internal tools
• Contributing to system design decisions and technical improvements
• Collaborating closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Supporting and mentoring junior engineers

• 4+ years' experience as a software engineer
• Strong experience with Node.js and React
• Solid understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred)
• Experience with containerisation and modern development practices
• Comfortable working in agile environments
• Exposure to regulated or security-conscious systems is highly beneficial
• An interest in building tools that enable others to work more effectively

• Startup or scale-up experience
• Experience in financial services or other regulated industries
• Exposure to automation, analytics, or workflow tooling
