Data Engineering Lead - Contract (OUTSIDE IR35) 6-Month Contract
We are looking for a hands-on Data Engineering Lead to take technical ownership of a cloud-based enterprise data platform within a group organisation. You'll combine strong Azure data engineering skills with technical leadership, mentoring a small team while remaining deeply involved in delivery.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Microsoft Azure data platforms
- Azure Databricks, SQL & data modelling
- Power BI for analytics and reporting
- Terraform/Infrastructure as Code
- CI/CD with GitHub Actions
- Experience leading or mentoring data engineers
Responsibilities: - Own the design, build, and operation of the data platform
- Develop and optimise data pipelines and SQL data layers
- Ensure reliable, scalable, and secure data solutions
- Lead engineering standards and best practices
- Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders
Nice to Have: - Azure monitoring & DevOps tooling
- Data governance and security in Azure
